I've seen this movie advertised. I can't watch the video on your blog because my computer is a dinosaur, but I really want to go see this movie. I wouldn't believed it if I didn't see it.
I just linked my post on Jesus camp to this one. I love what the actor, Bradley Whitford, has to say about religion and if it is not a bridge but a wedge.....
You know what Reza Aslan says here is right. Most of the peace loving people of both Christianity and Islam have no voice, atleast not in their religious organizations. Maybe the old term from a few years ago "the silent majority" still applies, especially by those who used to use it.
It is the fanatics that always seem to gain control of the high places in religion. If there is any kind of battle that still takes place, it must involve being heard over them.
I don't know....maybe it is because self serving people gravitate to places where they can be recognized and can then dominate and manipulate others.
God still speaks from the hearts of a lot of plain common people who aren't given any credit for being able to add anything of real worth to the discussions. Know what I mean?
wow, I just watched the trailer for that movie and I am AFRAID!! The scariest thing is that I used to be one of those kids.... yikes. With camps like this, corrupting the indoctrinated millions is gonna be a lot more work.
Christianity has become this big, ugly, well-oiled machine that seeks control over government to legislate morality. It is preaching separation and that others of any other faith are inferior.
Religion can make ugly, judgemental, intolerant people.
Contrast that with a Spiritual Connection, in the life of a believer makes us loving, tolerant and patient. BIG difference.
We cannot do these great things in our own strength. It is a Higher Power that works within us both to will and to do His good purpose.
